Terms of use

Last updated: 16 October 2026

1. The service

hbtroc.ch is a classifieds and auction platform for amateur radio gear, operated by Rafael Seoane (HB9HPG), 1008 Prilly, Switzerland. It puts sellers and buyers in touch. hbtroc.ch is not a seller, a buyer or a payment intermediary: the sales contract is concluded directly between members.

2. Account

Registration is free and reserved for adults. You provide accurate information and keep your password to yourself. One account per person. The same account lets you sell and buy.

3. Listings

  • You only sell gear that belongs to you and can be sold legally in Switzerland.
  • The description and photos match the gear actually sold, faults included.
  • The following are forbidden: stolen gear, counterfeits, jammers, any item unrelated to radio and electronics, duplicate listings and advertising.
  • hbtroc.ch may review, reject, change the category of or remove a listing that does not follow these rules.

4. Auctions

  • A bid is a firm commitment to buy at the price reached if you win. The seller commits to selling to the highest bidder.
  • Your maximum bid is kept secret. The site bids automatically on your behalf, step by step, up to that maximum.
  • A bid placed in the last few minutes extends the auction, as shown on each listing.
  • From the first bid, an auction can no longer be withdrawn, moved to drafts or deleted by the seller, and its price, condition and end date are locked. The seller can still clarify the text and photos; bidders are notified. Bidding on your own listings, directly or through another account, is forbidden.
  • hbtroc.ch may cancel bids that are clearly abusive.

5. Payment and handover

At the end of a sale, the buyer and the seller receive each other's contact details and make their own arrangements. hbtroc.ch charges no commission and guarantees neither payment, nor delivery, nor the condition of the gear.

6. Questions and reviews

Questions asked on a listing and the seller's answers are public. They must not contain contact details or links to another platform. hbtroc.ch may hide those that do not follow these rules.

After a completed deal, each party can leave an honest review of the other. Reviews that are abusive or unrelated to the transaction may be hidden.

7. Conduct

Respect and courtesy, just like on the air. Harassment, attempted scams and using the messaging for unsolicited marketing lead to the account being blocked.

8. Liability

hbtroc.ch does its best to keep the site running, without any guarantee of permanent access. Its liability is excluded for disputes between members and for damage related to the gear exchanged, to the extent permitted by law.

9. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Place of jurisdiction: Lausanne, subject to mandatory places of jurisdiction.
